May 22, 2011: Congregational Forum

Posted on : Apr 7th, 2011 | By | Category: Special Events

On Sunday, May 22, we begin our Congregational Inquiry and Discernment Process with the United Church of Christ!

Sunday, May 22, will be a phenomenally important and wonderful Sunday!  It is the first event in our congregational inquiry and spiritual discernment process, as we consider whether to request to be transferred from the Presbyterian Church to the UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST.

The Rev. Susan Leo, pastor of Bridgeport United Church of Christ in Portland, Oregon will be preaching followed by an “everything you want to know about the UCC” forum after worship.  You bring the Questions and Susan will answer them! Susan’s sermon is based on Jesus’ teaching:  “Ask, and it will be given you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.”   [Matthew 7:7]

We’ll have about an hour’s conversation with Susan directly after worship.  Since she has to leave here at 1:30 to catch her plane, we’ll plan to dismiss by 1:15, to leave time for some informal conversation afterwards.  There will be no lunch served – light or otherwise.
