March 18, 2012: LA Marathon Sunday

Posted on : Mar 11th, 2012 | By | Category: Special Events

This Sunday, due to the LA Marathon, we will have worship at 4pm at

Westwood Hills Congregational Church (UCC)

1989 Westwood Blvd, Los Angeles, CA  90025

(between Santa Monica and Olympic)

followed by a Pot Luck dinner!

Come and meet our new UCC neighbors!

Dan and our fabulous music team will be joining Rev. Kirsten Linford, pastor, and Bernadette Lingle, their fabulous Director of Music at Westwood Hills Congregational Church (UCC) leading us in a great worship service.

We will not have our regular 11 am worship service
at Church this Sunday.
Sunset Blvd and all surrounding streets and Freeway exits are all closed.

Don’t forget to bring some food or beverages to share for our Pot Luck Dinner following worship.  Bring whatever you like!

Fabulously Creative Cuisine or Take-Out is fine!

Paperware and tableware will be provided.

“A Funky Little Church”

that’s how Westwood Hills Congregational Church describes themselves!

In fact it’s on the sign in front of their church.

They are an open and affirming UCC which is what we will be.

They have the same fun spirit we do.

Some of the members of our transition team joined them for worship last week and others of us observed their board meeting last Sunday after worship.

This is going to be a fun and enriching relationship!

Their invitation to worship:

Come as you are.  No admission.  No dress code.  No judging.
Bring your doubts, questions, and noisy kids.
God doesn’t reject people. Neither do we.
