June 19, 2016: Orlando

Posted on : Jun 14th, 2016 | By | Category: This Sunday's Service

Sometimes, it can take a little while for the enormity of an event to truly be understood. This past Sunday, we offered prayers for Orlando and I talked about PRIDE even in the midst of violence. In many respects, we were all in shock. But, as time passes, the scope and scale of the tragedy is beginning to sink in. The level of depravity is staggering. The degree to which we have been victimized is nearly incomprehensible.

When friends contact me and ask “Are you OK?” I have to reply, “Well, not really.”

As is our tradition here in times of tragedy, we will devote this coming Sunday’s service (June 19th) to remembering those beautiful men and women who died in Orlando and expressing our own hopes and fears for our future.

Please feel free to invite friends who might need a quiet, safe space to be and pray.

Blessings to each of you,
